What to expect:
If you are attending The Central Park Conservancy Hat Luncheon you can expect to see the most elegant ladies in the city in afternoon luncheon appropriate attire. The event, which raises money for the upkeep of Central Park, is a highlight and centers on floral themes for hats or fascinators. While you want to look elegant and put together, this gorgeous party is more about the headgear than the dress. Choose a feminine, conservative, and simple look: a lovely suit, floral dress, or shift with jacket in neutrals or pale pastels. You don’t generally see a vamp look, black, or dark colors. The champagne is flowing, the tables smell amazing, and the gardens are miraculous. Hats and fascinators are floral in theme, but some people choose hats with natural elements such as trees, leaves, or beehives. For the most part you will see hats and fascinators with flowers.
Hat or fascinator?
We sell more fascinators to attendees of CPCL Fascinators fit every size and keep shadows from your face when you are photographed.
Pinks, cream, cream and white, beige, pale gray, blush, black and white and navy are best.
A simple shift and jacket, a suit, or floral dress in pale colors are always best.
Attending the CPCL with clients, or as the guest of a VIP:
If you are very concerned about being appropriate, wear a fascinator that feels comfortable in size, and is not too large. Do remember that many women will be wearing hats that are more elaborate and larger than those you may consider extreme. If you want to really go for it, and we think that you should, this is the day for it. Follow a flower theme, and choose pale colors and you will be perfect.
Get there early for the garden tours. Gardeners have been working round the clock for months to ensure that the trees and flowers are looking their most splendid. It is fun and inspiring to see how gorgeous Central Park can be. You will not see this again for another year. Bring a wrap for temperamental spring weather that can sometimes be cool.
Enjoy your time, and your company!
